Sunday was Lots of Fun!

We went to the pumpkin patch and there were tons of people there! We tried to go when liam was awake, but he ended up falling asleep in the car and wouldn't wake up at all while we were there. So he slept the whole time at the pumpkin patch. Oh well. Next year he'll probably be awake for it.

We searched for a couple of smaller pumpkins, but all the ones in the fields were bigger than what we wanted. So we got two smaller ones from up front and a little one for liam. We also bought a big bag of fresh caramel corn and kettle corn and it's soooo yummy! I really need to stop eating it....

Then we came home and ate dinner while liam still slept. Then we carved pumpkins and tried to get liam to pose for some pictures with the pumpkins, but it didn't really work out too well. Here are some of our attempts:

Carving pumpkins was fun, and we decided to wait on making the caramel apples until Wednesday night because it was getting late. Oh, and AJ made butterbeer, like from Harry Potter. So all in all it was a really good and fun day.

Things I'd like to do Everyday...

1. Spend time with God (reading Bible, praying, journaling)
2. Go for a walk with Liam
3. Dishes
4. Give Liam a bath & massage afterward
5. Singing time with Liam
6. Tummy time with Liam
7. Eat dinner together as a family at the table
8. Quality time with AJ in evening

Things I Love About Being a Mother...

1. Watching liam while he sleeps
2. Watching AJ be with liam
3. That my body is capable of providing all the food & nutrients that liam needs
4. After liam is done nursing, he'll take his mouth off and then rest it back on my chest and fall asleep
5. When liam smiles a huge smile for me and then keeps on doing it
6. When liam is crying when someone else holds him, but calms down when I take him
7. Listening to liam make sounds just for fun
8. Liam's hungry cry....sounds like "maaaaa!"- like he's saying my name
9. The softness of his skin
10. His naked and wiggly body
11. That he is mine
12. Taking a zillion trillion pictures of him
13. Brushing his hair while I nurse him
14. Giving him baths and feeling so happy when he enjoys it so much
15. Showing him off to people
16. If his binky falls out he'll start sucking on his lower lip
17. Sometimes when he's sleeping in my arms, he'll flinch and he reaches up his arm like he's trying to hold onto me
18. When sleeping in my arms, he'll try to burrow in closer to me, like he wants to be as close as possible to me
19. Listening to his whimpering sounds while he sleeps

Realizations I've had Since Being a Mother...

1. That I can have so much love for one little baby
2. Not getting much sleep is really really hard
3. There's not much "me" time anymore, but it's totally worth it
4. I find myself not being able to wait for certain milestones, but remind myself to enjoy and experience liam as he is now
5. I'm overprotective when other people are around liam and didn't think I would be
6. I wish it was possible to always have a camera with me to capture all of his precious moments
7. Just getting the mail is a huge task now
8. Showers are priceless
9. I wish I could read his mind so he would always be happy and content
10. I can't protect him forever, but for now I can try my best to preserve his purity and innocence
11. Having six binkies in the house isn't always enough....they always seem to disappear
12. Spit up is not cool
13. Wipes warmers sound like a gimmick, but are a lifesaver with liam
14. I have to eat my meals when I get the chance and eat them fast

These are pictures of AJ with Liam in our new homemade moby wrap. So far Liam seems to really like falling asleep in it and likes it much better than our Hotsling. Liam's asleep in it right now on AJ's chest on the couch. :)

We're all doing okay here. AJ and Liam are both sick...Liam with a cold and AJ probably has the same thing. Oh, and I took Liam to the doctor this week and he now weighs 10 lbs, 14 oz! He's getting pretty big!

Tuesday Randomness

This is how liam fell asleep in his crib today. I love it when he brings his hands up to his face when he sleeps. Not a lot of exciting news, but we're still enjoying liam tons. He's holding his head up a lot more now and we've been doing tummy time with him too. He likes getting baths, but not the getting soaped up part.

He's doing pretty good with his sleeping...he wakes up every two hours during the night. I can't wait for him to sleep for longer though! AJ and I are getting a routine down for the nights too. During the week I take care of Liam at night, but from 4:30 am and on AJ takes care of him until around 7 or 8 am. On the weekends during the nights AJ changes all the diapers and puts him back to sleep--I just feed him. So I always look forward to the weekends because it means more sleep (well, for me, not so much for AJ).
